We all have our favorites!  Here are some of mine!

  • JuicePlus+ bridges the gap between what we should eat and what we do it.  I’ve been eating JuicePlus+ for over 14 years and highly recommend it!

Make Up and Skin Care:

I’m very picky about what I put on my skin.  And I strive to support companies who deliver safe and effective products without doing harm to animals or to the environment.  I’m happy to report it’s getting easier to find these products, as the consumers are demanding it and supporting those companies who are delivering.  A good resource to search for safe products or plug in what you’re using to see how it rates is the Environmental Working Group’s, Skin Deep website.

Be sure to check the labels, many products on the market today are not ‘Cruelty Free’ (they test on animals) or ‘vegan’, so check the ingredients if that’s important to you.

  • I’ve been very pleased with Aveda’s Inner Light Mineral tinted moisturizer.  It’s oil free and uses a mineral SPF so I use it to moisturize and as a foundation.  I’ve found that the powdered foundations are too drying for me.
  • I’ve also had good results with Reviva, 100% Pure, and Rejuva.

Kitchen Stuff:

  • My VitaMix blender – I use it every day.  It’s a blender on steroids so pay some respect!
  • I’m a stove top pressure cooker fan, but I was always afraid that I’d forget about it.  Well, you don’t have to worry with the Instant Pot, just set it and go!  I love my Instant Pot!  It’s a combination electric pressure cooker, steamer, rice cooker, yogurt maker, and you can also sauté! I cook beans, rice, and vegetable broth in bulk.  This alone has already paid for it!
  • Sharp knives are a must for me!  I currently use Cutco knives, because I can get them resharpened free for life.
  • Immersion blenders (blenders on a stick) are handy to use to puree soups, pulse sauces, and whip up single serve smoothies.
  • Citrus adds a splash of flavor to many dishes.  I always keep lemons and limes on hand and use a manual citrus press to juice and add right before serving.

  • Trigger Point Performance Therapy – I’ve been learning a lot about self-myofascial release therapy and have been using these techniques on my body.  It works and I highly recommend you learning more about it!  I’ll be sharing more information in an upcoming blog.  In the meantime, check out their products.
  • My hamstrings have a love/hate relationship with the RumbleRoller foam roller!  It’s worked wonders for me when my hamstrings are tight (which is every day!)
  • Fitness trackers are wildly popular and can be very effective to keep you motivated and accountable. You can even share your results or encourage friends to stay active with some models.  I’ve heard good news about Fitbit and Garmin trackers but haven’t personally used either one.  I use an Apple watch which tracks activity and exercise, and also prompts me to stand and move around if I stay sedentary for too long.  Disclaimer: I don’t believe any of these fitness trackers are 100% accurate, but they definitely can serve a purpose to help folks active.
  • TRX Suspension Straps – with these straps you never have an excuse to miss a workout!  Easy to pack when traveling, you can get a full body workout almost anywhere, even outdoors with the right anchor point.
  • I also travel with a jump rope.  It doesn’t have to be fancy to be effective!
